Photo: Spring 2026 Intern, Bioarchaeology Major: Anthropology and Russian Anticipated Year of Graduation: 2027 What collections are you working with: Health Sciences Skeletal Anatomy Collection Who is your staff/faculty mentor: Dr. Laurie Reitsema What are your interests (academic & otherwise): Academically, my interests lie in osteology and bioarchaeology—examining human bones to discover a surprisingly vast amount of information about how their original owners lived and died. Outside of class, I enjoy writing prose and poetry. I also teach circus acrobatics classes here in Athens. What are you doing with your collection during your internship: I'll be working to estimate demographics such as age, sex, and disease for the various skeletal elements in the anatomy teaching collection, then organizing this information so it's easily accessible. What made you want to do an internship with GMNH: I was really thrilled to hear about an opportunity for some hands-on skeletal analysis. now, I'm easy to collaborate with Heath Sciences and to provide some information on the individuals who are part of this collection.
